Two-piece leafy suits
A jacket and pants cover you fully when you sit, kneel or climb, and stay put while you move. Leafy ponchos and one-piece covers
Ponchos throw on fast and cover your upper body, but they can flap, catch on brush and leave your legs uncovered when you sit. They suit short, quick setups more than all-day hunts.
Ghillie suits

Printed camo clothing
Printed camo matches color and pattern but leaves a smooth, human-shaped outline. It works well up a tree, where you are above the animal’s line of sight, and as a base layer under a leafy suit for ground hunts.
Which should you choose?
- Ground hunting deer or turkeys: a two-piece leafy suit plus a mask and gloves.
- Bowhunting: a two-piece leafy suit with bow arm sleeves.
- Long sits in tall grass: a ghillie suit, if you can handle the heat and weight.
- Tree stand only: printed camo is often enough, with a leafy suit for close-range or low stands.
